Scott River watershed snowpack is over 130%—”emergency drought” regulations must go

The April 1st annual snow survey for the Scott River watershed is in! Not all sites were accessible due to deep snow. Also, the survey was done before a sizeable storm hit at the end of March. Still, the survey results were impressive: 131%. Precipitation is already at 107% for the entire water year (through September 2025)! We are not in a drought. The State Water Board should rescind the “emergency drought” regulations for Scott and Shasta. We have not experienced drought conditions since May of 2023.
